Wellsmere Me And My Shadow "Jada" (ptd.)
(Retired)
Jada is my first Collie I was not expecting to come home with another dog after just loosing another so soon, but Jada stole my heart. Jada was bred by Wellsmere Collies and is Co-Owned with Carol Ann Wells. She has a very extensive pedigree on her sires side, Her sire is multi group placing/ multi BOV winning GCH. Bluwave's Speak Of The Devil "Vince" bred/owned and handled by my sister Jennifer Zappone of Bluwave Collies in Torrington, CT, her Grand sire is none other than 2 X Westminster K.C. BOS and 1 time BOV at WKC GCH. Provenhill's Dance With The Devil ROM "Crush"..
Though Jada has not been in the ring much, her first match at 5 months old brought her BOV and puppy herding group 1st, at just over 8 months old she was entered in her first AKC show and came home with Winners bitch for her first point and first place in JR showmanship class. She has also taken several Reserves in very limited showing.
Jada is officially retired from both the bred ring and whelping box. While she did love to show ,I am still learning the breed standard.Jada has many faults that will keep her from being competitive in the show ring so we have decided to retire her early. We hope to maybe get her involved in obedience and or agility but will mostly be my friend, companion and couch buddy. She did end her show career with at least one point. (more than the dam who has none) so we are still very proud of her accomplishment though they maybe little. She will never be a titled AKC Champion, but will always be a champion in my heart.
Jada produced one beautiful litter Sired by "Vince" GCH.Bluwave's Speak Of The Devil for us in June 2012 though it was a complete accident and certainly NOT intentional (being inbred on her father) I would not change a thing. This litter turned out to be a very beautiful healthy bunch with 2 going to show homes (Gus and Amber who belongs to a friend now)and one is in another state as a service dog and doing a great job.We kept one of her sons "Gus" Bluwave Kismet's new Beginning from this litter (who currently sits at has 4 points in very limited showing)he was pointed under both Breeder and All-breed judges.
